Blueberry
Blueberries are packed with antioxidant phytonutrients called anthocyanins,
which improve the integrity of support structures in the veins and entire
vascular system. Pterostilbene is another powerful antioxidant found in
blueberries; it is known to help fight cancer and may also help lower
cholesterol.
Raspberry
Raspberries are filled with nutrients, primarily in the antioxidant and B vitamin
categories. They are an excellent source of manganese and vitamin C
- two critical antioxidant nutrients that help protect the body's tissue from
oxygen related damage. hey are also good sources of riboflavin, folate,
niacin, magnesium, potassium and copper. The combination of many
nutrients found in raspberries makes them a great fruit choice as they have
minimal impact on blood sugars.
Strawberry
Strawberries are an excellent source of vitamin C, vitamin K and manganese.
They are also a very good source of dietary fibre and iodine, as well as
potassium, folate, riboflavin, vitamin B5, omega 3 fatty acids, vitamin B6,
magnesium and copper. The anthocyanins in strawberries give them their
fresh, bright red colour, and act as powerful antioxidants.
